Trojan Virtumonde

Spybot-SD found Virtumonde on my laptop. I clicked fix it and ran at least 3 times but Spybot is not able to remove the Trojan. My computer is running very slowly and I have done most things listed under your page for helping slow running computers. Thank you for any help you can provide. amcope

IMPORTANT

  • Whatever repairs we make, are for fixing your computer problems only and by no means should be used on another computer.

Your Hijack This is out of date.

Please download the latest version from here
  • Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
  • Do Not install yet.


Uninstall your Old version of HJT
  • Remove HJT from add/remove programs.
  • Using Windows Explorer, locate the HJT file and delete it.
  • Remove Desktop Shortcutfor HJT


Install your New version

Make an uninstall list using HijackThis
To access the Uninstall Manager you would do the following:
  • Start HijackThis
  • Click on the Config button
  • Click on the Misc Tools button
  • Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.
  • Click on the Save list... button and specify where you would like to save this file. When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file. Save the file to your desktop.

Sorry I've been sick so just getting back to you.
This computer is mostly used for our family owned (no employee) business. I use it mainly for Quickbooks record keeping.

In General, we do not help in cleaning business or corporate computers. There may be restrictions and modifications installed on such machines that could be damaged or altered by the actions we take to remove Malware. There may also be legal issues regarding any loss of business data that we do not wish to deal with.
