Unread postby cadburyrose » June 17th, 2010, 5:55 am

Hello,
My computer is getting slower and slower and keeps crashing midway through working. This morning I got an AVIRA pop up to say i have a trojan. I'm not really sure what to do about it.
Would appreciate the help, thank you.

Hi cadburyrose,
-----------------------------------------------------------
Disable Windows Defender
Go to Start > All Programs > Windows Defender.
Click on the Tools menu, click General Settings, Scroll down to Real-Time Protection Options section and Deactivate the Real-Time Protection system.

Then, in the toolbar across the top there is a little downpointing arrow next to the question mark icon.
Click on that, get a drop down list. One of the options is to exit Windows Defender.
Click on that, and there will be a pop up asking if you are sure you want to exit. Click Yes/OK.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Remove Registry items with HighjackThis. Start HijackThis.
Click Do System Scan Only. When the Scan is complete, Check the following entries:
(Some of these lines may be missing)
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = :
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = *.local

Symantec did not remove everything as it should. This is a common problem.
To completely remove Norton Antivirus, Download and Run the Norton Removal Tool for your version of Windows.
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039
Perform the DownLoad for your version of Windows (download to your desktop as it says).
On your desktop, click on Norton Removal Tool and follow the instructions.

Run the RSIT Scanner
Please download the scanner from here and save it to your desktop. The icon will be named RSIT.exe
Doubleclick the RSIT icon.
When the scan is complete, two text files will open
log.txt <- this one will be maximized
info.txt <- this one will be minimized
( Both files will be saved here -> C:\rsit\ )
Copy/Paste the contents of both log.txt and info.txt into your next post please. Use two posts if you prefer.

Let me know how it goes.

Re: TR/Dldr.Small.asin and Malware?

Due to a lack of response within the proscribed time period, this topic is now closed.

Although we understand a poster may have difficulty responding to a helper's posts and following the instructions therein in a timely manner, that is the way we and most free online help forums function. Online help forums are usually not the most suitable choice for those who must be away from their infected computers for a period of time that exceeds the posted parameters for receiving assistance.

This is the second topic in which you have either failed to respond promptly or at all. Therefore, we suggest you consider availing yourself of other more suitable means for resolving your computer's issues. You should not start another topic at this site.
