Desktop icons not showing, update problems, google redirect

Unread postby heyskokie » April 2nd, 2009, 10:37 pm

So, I've been having some problems. Likely my AVG free has not been updating for a while. I started the computer today and I had no desktop icons. Through the task manager I managed to open some things. But my antivirus would not update. Plus I notice that I get redirected from links in google. This is what I've done so far

Manually updated AVG free-Scan normal
Malawarebytes updated-Normal
Spybot Search&destroy updated-Some minor things
Couldn't update anything on it's own.

I'm sure it's more than one thing, but non of the malaware stuff finds it.
Here is my hijack this log.

Any help would be GREAT

Re: Desktop icons not showing, update problems, google redirect

Unread postby NonSuch » April 17th, 2009, 11:17 pm

We are sorry you have waited so long for a response. As you can see, we are quite busy as are all the other help forums.

If you still require help, you will first need to remove all P2P filesharing programs from your computer. Once that has been done, please start a new topic and post a fresh HijackThis log, along with a complete description of all symptoms you are currently experiencing that make you feel your system is infected with malware. Also, in the same post, please include an Uninstall List.

To create an Uninstall List, open HijackThis and, from the Main Menu > click on the "Open the Misc Tools section" button > click "Open Uninstall Manager" > click "Save List." Save the list to your Desktop or any convenient location. Next, copy the contents of the Uninstall List and paste it into the same post as your HijackThis log.

This topic is now closed. Please start a new topic by following the HijackThis Guideline posted here, and be sure to include your Uninstall List: >Guideline for posting your HijackThis log<
