I was advised to repost my virus troubles here...

Unread postby tdoggsdca » May 16th, 2009, 5:36 am

Hey there. I recently got a trojan that I can't get rid of myself... I've run Malwarebytes Antivirus, Spybot, CCleaner and another program simply named "Trojan Remover" that has worked for me in the past but nothing seems to be working. A little about this virus... Not sure exactly were I got it from but I did download Firefox and a video downloader plugin/program that would rip and download video's from Youtube and other video websites. That's when the trouble started. Since then I've deleted both Firefox and the plugin but that did not fix anything. I'm getting a lot of pop ups for the following sites because of the virus;

hxxp://parrotcoupe.info/
hxxp://canadasrv.info
hxxp://thebigsvc.info

Another little tricky thing this virus is doing is creating hyperlinks to these sites in my personal Wordpress blog posts! I'll write an article with Wordpress for my blog then when I post, it ads hyperlinks to the above sites to random words in my article... Never had a virus do that before. Anyway, here is the Hijack this log... Any help would be greatly appreciated! T.

No, you were not advised to post your "virus troubles here." This is what you were advised to do:

MWR 3 day Mod wrote:Hi tdoggsdca

I am sorry to see your topic is over three days old and no one has been able to respond and help you.

Unfortunately all the anti-malware forums are overloaded with victims of malware and we are no exception.

If you still require assistance could you please post a link to your topic in our 72 hr bump room, and our staff will try to make an effort to assist you. Please do not reply to this topic.

If you haven't posted within three days in the 72 hour bump room, we will assume you have been able to get assistance in other ways and this topic will be closed.

You will note that you were told to post a link to your topic in the 72 hour bump room and let us know that you still needed help. Note that you were also told that if you did not do that within 72 hours, it would be assumed that you no longer required assistance and your topic would be closed.

As you did not post a link to your topic within 72 hours, your topic was closed, three days ago, with the following instructions:

Shaba wrote:Due to lack of response this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.

As stated in those instructions, what you should have done was start a fresh topic in the Malware Removal room with a new HijackThis log, and then wait for a helper to assist you.

We do not work on logs in the 72 hour bump room and logs should not be posted here. If you still require help, then please follow the instructions you were given... start a new topic in the Malware Removal room and post a fresh log.

This topic is now closed.
