Re: Cannot delete Spigot Inc's Search Settings 1.2.2

Unread postby chet_nalewajek » October 31st, 2009, 11:53 am

I was able to find my own solution to this problem - please note that I did not receive any professional help for this problem. I searched online until I found the answer and it may or may not work for others.

Firstly, Search Settings and many other files and programs seem to have originated with the Dealio Toolbar which is a well known as MalWare. Who knows how and when it made its way onto my laptop.

Edit: This post has been edited to remove ill-advised self-help malware removal advice. What you did was extremely risky and you can count yourself fortunate that you did not trash your computer.

Do not post this sort of advice on this site again.

I hope this helps any others who may have a similar problem and especially if the are infected with the Dealio Toolbar and friends.

Respectfully, Chet Nalewajek
