I am building an "NUC" machine with the kind help of the Intel Communities Forums, and was advised to download this tool as advised above.
Sadly, it seemed to hang, and when I requested it to STOP, despite acknowledging my request, it again appeared to hang.
and even "deleting" it from Task Manager (I understand that is the Win 8.1 equivalent of Vista's "End task"), it disappeared from the task list, but continued to show it's GUI
My only option then was to do a hard shutdown.
On Re-booting I got the message:-
FAILED TO CONNECT TO A WINDOWS SERVICE.
Windows couldn't connect to the Group Policy Client Service.
This problem prevents standard users from signing in.
As an administrative user, you can review the system event log
for details about why the service didn't respond.
The guys on the Intel Forum pointed me at this "solution":- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4m5KEmc ... e=youtu.be , but I'm scared of messing up my little used fairly new Medion Erazer X6823 (MD98254)
Can one of your qualified "RegEditors" please, please help me get my lovely machine back to health so that I can upgrade it to "Win 10" before the deadline next month?
