Very slow computer and hopeless parental controls

Hi all, This computer takes ages to start up since installing BT (Yahoo) broadband and their pre-bundled Norton Internet Security. The intenet parental controls aren't working effectively and the internet facility is very flakey!! I wonder if you could look at the log and advise if there is anything I can do to (a) speed it up (b) strip out all the unnecessary rubbish, (c) rationalise parental controls and (d) make it more robust??? I wouldn't bother going with a paid for full suite. But if you do decide to go that route... I'd go with Kaspersky Internet Security.

Honestly though... a good Firewall coupled with the AVG products you've installed should be sufficient. You will just need to make them aware that they will need to keep the AVG programs updated.
