Hi Mike,
You were close enough.
"C:\System Volume Information\_restore..." is a System Restore point. We can deal with that later.
Open Notepad, paste the following code box contents into the text.
Use Notepad's File, Save As to save it to your desktop as File type All Files (not as text file or it won't work), and file name FixSvc.bat
Exit Notepad and double click on FixSvc.bat
A Command window will flash on and off.
REBOOT your machine. Sign in to your usual account.
Disable Ad-Aware
Remove bad HijackThis entries
Now, enable the Show Hidden Folders option, like this:
Click Start.
Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.
Using Windows Explore by right-clicking the Start button and left clicking Explore navigate to and find the following files and folders: if found, delete them (some may not be present after previous steps):
C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\PMLY.exe<<File
Please post a fresh HijackThis log and a description of how your computer is behaving.
This looks nothing like I wrote it.
