please help torturously slow all programs, bootup, internet (page 2)

Thank you for your assistance, I can build a computer faster than this one is running. This site saved me from msjuan with another computer, and I am so grateful. This current computer has something else SBD (silent but deadly), which started after downloading and attempting to run Ad-Aware as a free and then purchased version. I have since uninstalled, but it hasn't been effective. Great, thank you so much! I actually reformatted my harddrive and reinstalled Windows XP with minimal improvement.

*Warming up my jaw preparing to bite the bullet... or a nice new Apple ... lol

Yes and I am told that Apple doesn't get malware/viruses, has that been your experience?

Well there is some viruses but amount is very little compared to Windows.
