IE & Firefox Hijacked - Redirects on Search Engines

I downloaded what I thought was a video codec. Afterwards, I did a Google search and clicked one of the produced links. It redirected me to another site, totally unrelated to the search. I was able to copy and paste the listed URL into the browser and get to where I needed to go but I could not use the links directly. I used HijackThis to analyze the problem along with running Trend Micro's online virus scanner, Panda Active Scan online, along with SpyBot and Ad-Aware. They all picked up on malware and removed the issues. Both IE and Firefox worked fine after that for a time. Then the problems just came back. Re-ran everything again, everything worked again, then came back. My computer runs really slow as well. I'd appreciate any help I can get with this.
