Help removing "delf" - I ran combofix in the wrong order.

Yes . . . the "but" was about the Kaspersky report.

I have not been able to locate a Java Cache folder that has any thing in it . . . I have searched for it many different ways. Could it be that I don't have any data there ?

I still have to do the other things . . . just trying to stay in the proper order.

Did you use any cleaner, emptied your temporary files lately?
Try this:

Clean out your Java cache, there are infected files in it.

• Click Start > Control Panel > double-click on the Java Icon (coffee cup) in the Control Panel.
• On the General tab, under Temporary Internet Files, click the Delete Files... button.
• There are three options in the window to clear the cache - Leave ALL 3 ticked
  
  • Downloaded Applets
  • Downloaded Applications
  • Other Files
• Click OK on Delete Temporary Files Window
• Note: This deletes ALL the Downloaded Applications and Applets from the CACHE.
• Click OK to leave the Java Control Panel.

OK . . . I found it and deleted the files in Java.

(I had not run any cleanup that I am aware of )

I installed Adobe reader 9.

OK . . . I found it and deleted the files in Java.

We needed to empty your Java cache, hopefully you didn't remove Java. Let's check it out.

Can you do me a favour?
Go in your Control Panel >> Add/Remove Programs and see if you have Java (TM) 6 update 7.
Let me know if it's there.

The go to:
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_07\bin\ssv.dll

Can you see the bolded folder and file?
Don't do anything, again, just tell me if they excist.

I did not remove Java . . . . only cleared the cahe.

Java 1.6.0_07 is in my control panel.

I have the folder and the bin . . . but that file is not in the bin folder. (I used search on that folder).

I will now wait for the next step.

Here is what i want you to do.

JAVA INSTALLATION
Please make sure that all programs are closed when installing Java.

• Go to http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
• Scroll down to where it says Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 7.
• Click the Download button to the right.
• Select Windows from the drop-down list for Platform.
• Check the box that says: Accept License Agreement and Continue.
• The page will refresh.
• Click on Windows Offline Installation, click on the link under it which says "jre-6u7-windows-i586-p.exe" and save the downloaded file to your desktop.
• Go in Add/Remove programs and remove Java (TM) 6 update 7
• Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
• Then from your desktop double-click on the download to install the newest version.
• Reboot your computer.

I can't see any firewall in your HijackThis log, so i assume you use windows firewall.

FIREWALL
Without a firewall your computer is susceptible to being hacked and taken over. If you use the Windows Firewall you might think that's sufficient but it only controls one way of the traffic (inbound). Simply using a Firewall in its default configuration can lower your risk greatly. It's preferable to install one of the suggested firewalls.
Vista users, must check compatibility with Vista before installation.

• Click START then RUN
• Now type Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK
• 

The above procedure will:

• Delete the following:
  • ComboFix and its associated files and folders.
  • VundoFix backups, if present
  • The C:\Deckard folder, if present
  • The C:_OtMoveIt folder, if present
• Reset the clock settings.
• Hide file extensions, if required.
• Hide System/Hidden files, if required.
• Reset System Restore.

The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your computer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer.
