Rootkit infestation can you help please??? Thankyou

Acer Aspire 3000 Laptop. SP3 XP Home Hello, Avast free edition is telling me I have a rootkit infestation. I've scanned with Housecall, Nod, Bit Defender and AVG online free scanner and nothing was found. Panda Scan told me there was a problem and would not allow me to scan. After Avast found the Rootkit it suggested it run a scan at boot up, which it did and nothing was discovered. Avast only says I have a rootkit problem when it does a thorough scan on XP home running as normal or in Safe Mode. Can you help please?
