google redirect problems

I'm sorry to here of that news. Did this happen when running any of my tools I recommended?

Can you possibly select the option "Last Known Good Configuration"? Or does the machine continiously loop over and over again.

Are there any error messages you can tell me that are being displayed? After you turn the machine on, is a beep or a series of beeps. At what precise moment does the computer restart again?

The best course of action would probably be a Reformat/re-install although I would be wary that this may happen again incase there is an issue with the hard drive. I would recommend backing up all of your data if the same Hard drive is used again.

i have decide to purchase a new computer and will try to recover data from drive when it arrives

i have tried numerous times to get this one to go including reinstalling windows to no avail
reformatting the drive will make recovery of data virtually impossible and i do not want to exhaust that option .

i am very appreciative of all of your assistance and will reccomend MR to all who are having issues as i believe this forum is a truly helpful resource

when starting my new system what recomendations for malware protection and prevention do you have .

The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your computer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer.

Note: Be sure to disable the service "DNS Client" FIRST to allow the use of large HOSTS files without slowdowns.
If this isn't done first, the next reboot may take a VERY LONG TIME.
This is how to do it. First be sure you are signed in as a user with administrative privileges:

Stop and Disable the DNS Client Service
Go to Start, Run and type Services.msc and click OK.
Under the Extended Tab, Scroll down and find this service.
DNS Client
Right-Click on the DNS Client Service. Choose Properties
Select the General tab. Click on the Stop button.
Click the Arrow-down tab on the right-hand side at the Start-up Type box.
From the drop-down menu, click on Manual
Click the Apply tab, then click OK
