Computer runs very slow

Should I run Chkdsk with the \F option?

Yes please do.
First delete the Chkdsk log on your desktop.

Next.

Go to Start, Run
type cmd
A window will come up.
In the window, Type chkdsk c: /F
System will have message saying it cannot do this because the drive is in use, and ask if you want to do it at reboot. Say YES.
Reboot the system.
It will make repairs when it reboots.

Next.

Check Hard Disk For Errors
Press Start->Run, then copy/paste the following command into the box and press OK:

cmd /c chkdsk c: |find /v "percent" >> "%userprofile%\desktop\checkhd.txt"

A blank command window will open on your desktop, then close in a few minutes. This is normal.
A file icon named checkhd.txt should appear on your Desktop. Please post the contents of this file.

Please post the new checkhd.txt log.

Hi Cypher. Any ideas why I can't boot from "Start, Furn off Computer, Restart"? FYI, I can "hot" boot from the Task Manager (Ctrl, Alt, Del). I still get he Logon Message "unable to log you on because of an account restriction". Was this caused by OTM?

So, based on the above report, I ran CHKDSK again, and this time on the report that stays on the screen for a brief period when CHKDSK finishes, it said there were no errors! I ran your report and got this file:

In summary, I can't warm boot from the Start Menu, and I think CHKDSK has fixed the errors on the hard drive.

OTM would not of caused the problems you are having, i suspect this is a hardware problem and i may have to direct you to a tech site.
We need to run another scan so continue with the instructions below.

Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE).

Please download from HERE

• Find Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 23.
• Click the Download JRE button to the right.
• Choose the correct Platform and Multi-language. Next, check the box that says I agree to the Java SE Runtime Environment 6 License Agreement.
• Click the Continue button.
• Click on the filename under Windows Offline Installation and save it to your desktop.
• Close all active windows.
• Install the program.

Update Adobe Reader

• You should Download and Install the newest version of Adobe Reader for reading pdf files.

• When completed select Uninstall application on close if you so wish, make sure you copy the logfile first!

Hi Natalie.

The problems you are still experiencing are not coming from malware as all of your latest logs have come back clean.
As this is a dedicated Malware Removal site I think those issues are best left to experts elsewhere..

So as I said above your logs are clean, I hope you can resolve your other problem with the links that I provided.

This is my general post for when your logs show no more signs of malware.

Now that you are clean, please follow these simple steps in order to keep your computer clean and secure:

Clean up with OTM

• Double-click OTM.exe to start the program, This tool will remove all the tools we used to clean your pc.
• Close all other programs apart from OTMoveIt3 as this step will require a reboot
• On the OTM main screen, press the CleanUp! button
• Say Yes to the prompt and then allow the program to reboot your computer.

You can now delete any tools we used if they remain on your Desktop.

Protection Programs
Don't forget to re-enable any protection programs we disabled during your fix.

Here are some free programs I recommend that could help you improve your computer's security.

Download and install Javacools SpywareBlaster from Here

Hi Cypher. My problems seem to be getting worse instead of better....I can no longer boot my machine normally. It hangs on "Windows is starting up". I'm writing to you on another machine (my husbands). I am able to boot up in safe mode however. I am thinking I will restore the machine to a previous date using "systems restore from F8 on boot up or use the previous back from ERUNT you had me create. My machine was slow, but it ran. Do you have any thoughts on this?

You're most welcome.
As i mentioned previously your logs are clean so your problems are not caused by malware.
I suspect this is a hardware problem and the CHKDSK we ran indicated it could be your hard drive.
It could be failing so if you haven't done so already i advise you to back up all your personal data as soon as possible.
This is a dedicated Malware Removal site so the tech forums i linked you to in my last post are will be able to advise you better than myself.
Please let me know if you have any further problems.
