slow internet, youtube videos don't play

Hi, I'm afraid I don't have a great description of the problem. To be honest, I'm not even 100% sure my computer is infected (though I'd say 75% sure). Basically my Internet has been intermittently slow. On one occasion, I attempted to go to Twitter and instead of going to the website, my browser (Chrome) downloaded a very small file called "Twitter". This happened three times in succession with Twitter and then once with another website which I forget. I didn't realize at the time I was having a problem, so unfortunately I deleted the files and don't know the file type. My anti-malware programs (Iobit 360 and Malwarebytes) were not picking anything up, so I attempted to download Emsisoft Anti-Malware and Trend Micro's HijackThis. Installation of both were denied with a message about licensing and said that I should contact the software provider. I then downloaded the installation files on another computer and was able to run them from an external hard drive (aka my iPod). Emsisoft fou

Hi mcm743,

The threats found by ESET were all items that had previously been found and quarentined by Spybot - Search & Destroy and so are no longer a threat and do not need to be removed.

The ESET scanner can be used any time as a backup to the antivirus installed on your computer.
