Mydoom back again plus avsystemcare
22 min read
Hi! I have been online for an hour now and everything seems trouble free!
That avsystemcare pop-up was a real problem. I just had to shut down & restart each time it appeared because it covered everthing up. Thanks for your help and patience. I will close this saga if everythings still Ok in about 15 hours time when I shut down the pc at bedtime.
Please feel free to make any recommendations which you think I should make. Thanks again.

Update @ 9pm. Everything is fine. No Mydoom, no avsystemcare, no pop-ups. Brilliant!
You can remove any programs / Tools I had you install. Use Add/Remove Programs to remove if listed there otherwise just delete them and empty recycle bin.

Thanks. I have removed the programs & dealt with System Restore. Your guidance was very helpful.
I have AVG Free & Anti-spyware. Also Ad-aware 2007; Spywareblaster are installed. A search has produced a list of the Firewalls . I am not sure which I should remove. I use Mozilla Firefox. My provider is Talktalk.
I have tried to copy/paste the list to you, so far without success!!
Will try again today.

Re TonyKlein: am I correct in understanding that some or all of the items in Nos 1-7 can be used?
I rarely use Internet Exlorere. I don't seem to have Java VM installed. Is it relevant to Mozilla Firefox? Where would you install it from and what is this I read about Sun VM? Windows Firewall is OFF.
A search of my pc reveals folders eg sprtcmd.exe which seem to be for me to use to install norton or mcafee firewall. Should I also remove them?
Thanks again.

You already have these: AVG Free & Anti-spyware. Also Ad-aware 2007; Spywareblaster are installed. No need for anymore.
You already have a firewall running:
C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zlclient.exe
You don't need to add or remove anything.
