please help.....im getting weird pop-ups

hello. my daughter was working on my computer doing some school work, looking up a website for phases of the moon, and all of a sudden the computer freaked out and now i am getting pornographic pop-ups, and when i "x" out of the pop-up, the internet explorer window i was working in turns all white and i have to close it and restart IE. i have done a trend micro house call and it told me that i had 41 viruses on the computer.
