Setting ICS to automatic went fine, but when starting firewall, received the error:

"Windows could not start the Windows Firewall on Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 13."
The only fault showing in your event logs is ....

Error - 7/25/2012 5:41:43 PM | Computer Name = Bob-PC | Source = SecurityCenter | ID = 3
Description = The Windows Security Center Service was unable to establish event
queries with WMI to monitor third party AntiVirus, AntiSpyware and Firewall.

Which pretty much means ....

In certain conditions this may indicate a conflict between firewalls installed on this particular computer (or between the Windows Security Center Service and another software with similar functionality).

Or to put that in plain English ...... the McAfee version you have has a Firewall, and is therefore disabling Windows firewall, and will not permit it to switch on. It's also not signalling this fact to Windows Security Service, which is why WSS is bugging you about Windows Firewall not being switched on.

This is probably down to an incorrect install of McAfee or some damage to either McAfee or WMI. To fix it, try uninstalling McAfee, reboot your computer, then reinstall McAfee.

Let me know if that helps any.
