No you dont have to reinstall BlueTack's HOSTS Manager, when you say you system is slow, is that when it boots
or just in the running of the system, when did this start, was it when you become infected or after???, I need a bit more
information to be able to help you..

also can you please check that you set DNS Service to Manual.

Go to Start, Run and type Services.msc and click OK. Under the Extended Tab, Scroll down and find this service.
DNS Client
Right-Click on the DNS Client Service. Choose Properties
Select the General tab. Click on the Stop button.
Click the Arrow-down tab on the right-hand side at the Start-up Type box.
From the drop-down menu, click on Manual
Click the Apply tab, then click OK

Now reboot

Do you have your install disc and key code for Norton Antivirus

yes i have the nortons stuff an its slow when turning on an when loading pages / i fix the dns stuff it was on auto

When you use norton antivirus it add details to the host file, I think what has happened is when we installed that bluetacks host file
the Norton enties were over written, there are two ways we can tackle this, one is to add the entries back into the host file, or uninstall
and reinstall Norton Antivirus which should re-add the entries back, I think the best way would to uninstall and reinstall Norton.

Make sure you have the NAV disc and the key code to reinstall it.

Have you already UNINSTALLED Norton, your last post sounds like it, if you have not run this tool below to uninstall it,

Go here and click on the link that matched your Norton Product, and download the removal tool.

Run this tool twice.


Reboot and now reinstall Norton, just pop the disc into the CD/DVD drive and follow the instructions




Now reboot, how are things now.

since u had me go to dns client i have to keep going back in there to get on line or else it wont let me online or load pages

listen, I dont know what happened but something with the dns client I cannot get my computer to go online or if you can think of any other reason why, please help, reply back asap

Did you uninstall Highjackthis, if you did please follow these instuctions to down load again and install again, if you kept it
go down to the next set of instructions..


Please download HJT again

Download HJTInstall.exe to your Desktop.

• Doubleclick HJTInstall.exe to install it.
• By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
• Click on Install.
• It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
• Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
• Click on the OPEN MISC TOOLS SECTION button.
• Then click on OPEN HOST FILE MANAGER, then Click on OPEN IN NOTEPAD
• Copy/Paste the notepad log with your hostfile on to your next reply please.

If Highjackthis is still installed follow these instructions

• Double click HJT icon to launch Hijackthis.
• Click on the OPEN MISC TOOLS SECTION button.
• Then click on OPEN HOST FILE MANAGER, then Click on OPEN IN NOTEPAD
• Copy/Paste the notepad log with your hostfile on to your next reply please.
