hijack log help please

My brother has this pc, keeps shutting down and sometime won;t let open netscape, browser or mail. won't let open yahoo messenger. or aim messenger. But the biggest problem is when and only when it does let him open yahoo messenger, will randomly close it and has to re boot to get it back, after 3, 4 or 5 times gives up and don't rtry no more.

He has run spybot S&D, adaware he did close all his pop up killers. (I think)

Hi there,
Please set your system to show all files; see here for how to do this if you're unsure.

The following are mandatory fixes:
Press Control-Alt-Del to enter the Task Manager.
Click on the Processes tab and end the following processes:

C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe

Exit the Task Manager when finished

Close all programs down, leaving only HijackThis running.
Place a check against the following items:

O3 - Toolbar: My &Search Bar - {014DA6C9-189F-421a-88CD-07CFE51CFF10} - C:\Program Files\MySearch\bar\2.bin\S4BAR.DLL (file missing)

The following are optional fixes:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewMgr] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe

Click on Fix Checked and exit HijackThis.

Reboot into Safe Mode: see here if you don't know how to do this.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them:

C:\Program Files\MySearch\

Exit Explorer, and reboot as normal afterwards.

Post back a fresh HijackThis log and we'll take another look.

My new log after done the required things, My brother can't open IE but can open netscape, and his yahoo messenger and aim won't open either, and his screen freeses up when tries to use IE has to open task,mgr to end task and try again?

Well your log is clean.

BUT you have this software installed:-

and I notice they recommend spyware nuker on thier home page.

I don't know this ad killer program, I use ie-spyad and google popup blocker instead.

BUT I do know spyware nuker which they are advertising.
You might like to read this about that program:-

Its has a dubious past - but is considered 'not rogue' now - which does not mean they recommend it.

The problems you are having now look to be from a settings problem of some kind - try uninstalling ad killer - it might just be this program that is creating the problem.

Please post back with how you get on. It is always nice for a topic when started to have an outcome for others to read in the future.
