Trojan-Spy.Win32.GreenScreen

Hello and thank you for helping. The history on this is I was on an "unclean" site and got hit with Antirus 2008 last Friday, August 15th. It did it's standard thing of taking over my desktop background, running it's fake exe malware detector and locking my task manager. I had no "real" antivirus software in place to stop this. The actions I have taken have been to download a Malware software program and that cleaned it up enough to get control of my task manager so I was able to close a bunch of those funky named .exe files that have all those consonants. Then I rebooted in safe mode to get administrator rights back on my desktop. I reboot in normal mode and it appeared that I fixed it. Unfortunately, the next time I shutdown, it said something about applying updates. I didn't recall any windows updates, but I didn't think too much of it. When I rebooted, almost all of it was back. However, I did have control of my task manager this time. Since that point, I have uninstalled Malware, installed the 14 day trial of Norton. It didn't do much so I uninstalled that. Then I installed Spybot Search and Destroy. That did OK, but didn't do the full trick and the "teatime" watcher became annoying with it's notifications on every move I'd make. So I uninstalled that and then I downloaded AVG free. That has been OK and I've kept that as some form of protection. I ran that in Safe Mode. Finally, I downloaded HiJack This and removed 2 obvious items from the registry, but not sure if I got everything. There is still something on my machine that modifieds my desktop background and won't let me have control and the The Trojan-Spy.Win32.GreenScreen pop up still visits occasionally.
