Really slow to connect to annything

Hi, my laptop seems to have slowed right down -it takes ages to connect to web pages etc. I defragged about a week ago. I've recently downloaded some music recording software which I'd like to keep hold of as it's really good - but perhaps something not so good came with it?

I'm not experiencing any other problems other than very slow performance.
