Hello there,

I have this black wallpaper with red and white letters that say: "Warning! Your're in danger! your computer is infected with spyware...blah, blah...

The computer is very slow and you can hear a loud noise in the computer from the fan I guess, CPU usage is high.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Do you remember what you were doing (visiting a website(s), downloading/installing a file(s)) before the black wallpaper with red and white letters appeared on your Desktop?


Step # 1: Make an uninstall list using HijackThis
To access the Uninstall Manager you would do the following:

1. Start HijackThis
2. Click on the Config button
3. Click on the Misc Tools button
4. Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.
5. Click on the Save list... button and specify where you would like to save this file. When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file. Simply copy and paste the contents of that notepad here on your next reply.



Step # 2: Remove Hijackthis Entries

  • Run HijackThis
  • Click on the Scan button
  • Put a check beside all of the items listed below (if present):


    O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {E0E899AB-F487-11D5-8D29-0050BA6940E3} - (no file)

  • Close all open windows and browsers/email, etc...
  • Click on the "Fix Checked" button
  • When completed, close the application.
