First off: Hello all. I got pointed in your direction by an acquaintance on another forum, with only the highest of acclaims. 
In any case, why I've posted:I had a sudden but terrible attack of the "stupid" when I decided to click on a facebook link of an old girlfriend that, at a second glance, was blatantly unsecure.
The site in question seemed to be a video sharing site that told me my flash player was out of date and asking to update it.
After a long day at work and BEING AN IDIOT I clicked accept, without even considering the repercussions. Now, I've been working with computers for a long time now and am "internet savvy" enough that I never have virus/spyware/etc troubles, but clearly I really screwed up this time by installing this "flash update". Obviously no flash player update happened and I decided to take a closer look at the link and noticed it referred to an unknown and therefore incredibly dubious IP address. Ouch.
In short: I've got a virus/trojan/something.
I immediately did the obvious (Virus scan, spyware/key logger scan etc), send out a message to my friends not to open any links I may happen to post in the near future etc, but while AVG clearly spotted something, it didn't actually get rid of it according to my hijackthis log. Aforementioned mate from another forum informed me that I still had things of a dubious nature on my logs, and that I should come here to seek help to correctly purge this atrocious virus thing from my computer.

I may add, I'm running vista 64 bit and used the following programs immediately after I noticed the infection (all in safe mode):
-Spybot S&D
-AVG Full system scan
