iexplorer running twice on new system

hi all, i have an incidence of internet explorer running twice on my system my son had a bit torrent programme running on his account which i have removed and have also taking his administration rights from him because i suspect this is where the problem may have originated from any help in sorting out the aftermath greatly appreciated i have ran a kaspersky scan results negative ht log as follows

I have checked your HijackThis log and there is no sign of an active malware infection.

The symptoms you describe of iexplorer running twice are perfectly normal with Internet Explorer 8, whereas with IE7 and before only one instance would be running under normal circumstances.

Please see here and read item #2 for more information.

Please confirm that the HijackThis log you posted showing two instances of iexplore.exe was posted with Internet Explorer open, and that with Internet Explorer closed there are no instances of iexpore.exe showing as running processes.

Removing Bit Torrent from the PC and Administrator rights from the account are both very good ideas and will greatly improve the security of your system.

thanks very much for your input the link you indicated explained the situation with regard to IE8 running twice
the reason i posted was that ie8 would not open links on pages and when i cked taskmanager i noticed two ie explorers running while only one page was opened whereas this is a prob with earlier versions of ie it is as u say normal for ie8 i have rerun hijack this with ie running and not and indicates no instances when explorer not running just seems ie8 has still some bugs to work out for certian sites it wont open once again thank you for your help[ and im still letting the son think he caused a prob might keep him away from p2p sites which is not a bad thing eh? !!
