Suspicious behavior persists

Well, the suspicious behavior persists. Whenever I start my computer, the antivirus (in this case, Sunbelt software's Vipre) starts but the "active protection" module is not enabled. I can then manually enable it but even going into the program's setup screen and doing so does not cause it to change its default behavior. This only occurs on this computer since my earlier event caused me to be wary in the first place.
