Google links redirecting me to other websites

This thread's last reply is from December 13, 2010, 4:54 PM UTC. Software, malware, and removal-tool advice below may be out of date — treat specific steps and download links with caution.

Hello, I just purchased and installed Webroot antivirus after having a virus removed by Best Buy. Almost immediately after installing I went to google and did a search. When I click on links from Google, I am being redirected to completely different websites, including some MalWare sites. Webroot has offered to help me remove it myself "if I am technically savvy and have days or even weeks" or I can give them $130. Can you assist?
