Dear Askey 127 --Thank you so much for your help. I thought that I had replied to your post of August 4th, but I see that it did not go through properly and did not post. I have copied our thread above. After doing the recommended fixes I'd like to report that my computer is running much faster now. However, I did need to remove Office 2003 because the free space was just at 13% prior to its removal. I could remove most of my music files to create more space, do you recommend that? And finally, I wanted to ask whether we did indeed check for malware, or if I should start a new topic for that now that the machine is running better.
