Hi. I have a problem with my computer which my limited grasp of these things understands to be a Rootkit virus. (I might be wrong – please help!).

I first noticed the problem when my audio stopped working (though it’s connected and I’ve restarted). I tried troubleshooting but it gives me an error code: 0x80070424.

I’ve now noticed my firewall is off and I can’t turn it off. I’ve tried following some instructions on the internet on how to fix this but every time I hit a dead end because I don’t have access to run as administrator. It comes up with this message: The system administrator has set policies to prevent this instillation.

So that means when I download McAfee Rootkit Removal, it won’t let me use it. Control Panel access is denied. I can’t run stuff through Administrator mode.

I’m running a scan now and I will send the report when it finishes of what’s infected.

Please help me – I don’t know what else to do!!
