Hey guys, and gals,

I have this school project about finding allusions to the bible in the media, books, etc. I am having trouble on this. I went after school and asked the teacher, and she said "just look around" which is not helpful at all

So I was just wondering where you guys and gals think I can find these.

Thanks,

Mike

Do you mean titles of such, like the movie Ten Commandments or does the teacher mean not specifically "Christian" ?
Look in bookstores and music/video stores. There are some that bible references are made in that aren't specific to just being for Christians.
Hope that helps.

Yeah we need some from both testaments. An allusion is like when something from the bible is mentioned, like if it says something like this in a movie,

Sargent: "Soldiers, you must kill those 1000 men"
Soldier 1: "With our rifles?"
Soldier 2: "Naahh...How about a jawbone"

That would be like an allusion to Samson, where he killed 1000 men with a jawbone.

Have you tried Google ??

Yeah I tried that, I can't find more than what I already have.

So how much do you actually have to find? There are of course thousands of allusions to the Bible in literature, music and movies, but the hard thing is that you normally do not actually pay attention to those allusions and now you don't remember which book, song or movie had one of those allusions.

What about Shakespeare? He used a lot of allusions to anything.

Try to think of some others who put a lot of time in constructing the text of their books, music or movies, like Shakespeare, and then use Google I guess.

Good luck ;) Now I am going to back to find out what typical Tokyo architecture is

Btw. Maybe editing your the subject/name of your topic will attract (more) wise people (so not only people like me who accidentally clicked it and accidentally were able to think of something) ;)

Thanks John,

I just need 10. I think I have found about 6-7 so far.

Well that means it's finished with a couple more of Shakespeare.

What would I do without google
