Is skype a safe program to have on my computer?

We use skype all the time in server support, all the data sent by skype is fully encryted so even if its interceptted, it cant be read.

Their are rumors that certain "agencies" have been given the encryption algorithms, but unless your breaking the law it shouldnt worry you, and in any event its unproven at this time.

Certain sectors of the anti malware community wont use Skype, becouse they cant break it themselevs, which too me says more about their egos than anything else!!
