I have a trojan downloader that is currently being blocked by spy doctor, but spydoctor is unable to remove even after update complete scan.

This BHO is suspicous but I wanted some feedback before I fixed it....

RENAME HIJACKTHIS

Using Windows Explore by right-clicking the Start button and left clicking Explore navigate to:
C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe

Right-click on HijackThis.exe & select Rename to scanner.exe and post back a new Hijackthis log.

LIST OF PROGRAMS USING HIJACKTHIS
  • Open HijackThis.
  • Click on Open the Misc Tools section.
  • Click on the Open Uninstall Manager... button.
  • Click on the Save list... button.
  • It will prompt you to save. Save this log in a convenient location. By default it's named uninstall_list.txt.
  • Notepad will open. Please copy and paste the contents of this log in your next reply.

Also I deleted the suspicious BHO, but the trojan persists. It appears to be of the vundo family.

Yes you are infected by Vundo, it's not only that line you mention.

Please rename and post a new HijackThis log, following the previous instructions i posted, and repost programs list, as it was cut-off.

Yes my IT department's solution to viruses is to rewrite my hard drive causing incredible amounts of inconvience. so I've taken to solving the problems myself.

I am sorry but we can't help.

See our forum's policy about business computers here.
In General, we do not help in cleaning business or corporate computers. There may be restrictions and modifications installed on such machines that could be damaged or altered by the actions we take to remove Malware. There may also be legal issues regarding any loss of business data that we do not wish to deal with.


I am afraid you have to talk again with your IT department, and tell them to try and clean this pc, instead of doing a re-format re-installation of the system.
